Intranet
A private network within an organization. Firewalls will generally prevent Internet traffic from accessing the Intranet.
IP
Internet Protocol-Internet functions are governed by this set of rules.
IP Address
The Internet Protocol address assigned to a server or host. This is a
unique number consisting of four parts separated by dots (ex. 123.456.789.1). Every machine that is on the Internet has a unique IP address.
ISP
Internet Service Provider. In order to achieve access to the Internet or to
a Windows-based application (for example), a valid connection must be
made with an ISP. Examples of Internet Service Providers include: AT&T Worldnet, America Online, Compuserve, Digex, Earthlink, IBM, Microsoft
